The WaterRower Oxbridge Rowing Machine is handcrafted in solid Cherry Wood. Like all woods, cherry may vary in colour from a reddish-brown to deep red. Cherry Wood. like all woods used in WaterRower construction, is a premium hardwood with incredible longevity and dimensional stability. It will also darken in colour with exposure to light. For this reason, all WaterRower Cherry Wood components are kept in light-free rooms to protect them from shadowing. A new WaterRower Oxbridge will therefore appear quite light in colour. The wood will however darken over time reaching a rich reddish hue.
Each Oxbridge WaterRower is treated with three coats of Danish Oil providing an exceptionally deep lustre and brilliant finish. Wood is an excellent material for this application due to its ability to absorb sound and vibration enhancing the WaterRower's smooth, quiet operation.

I've been using it for a couple of weeks no, very happy with my oak boat. Great exercise for all fitness levels, everyone in the family can row without changing anything on the equipment. It will never be in your way and yet always there when you need it. And the sound of water makes it exquisite.
Compact, well-constructed, easily assembled, and good-looking, this rowing machine has brought good health and high spirits to the whole family—well… except our dog, who finds the whooshing noise a bit worrying.
It is a great work out and it is very smooth in operation.
This is a lovely machine that is well made, easy to assemble, and looks great. It's a smooth row and the water makes for a soothing sound.
