Goes Well With

The Orion Buffalo Bar (Bow Bar) is strategically designed to alleviate stress from your shoulders while squatting, benching. A big benefit of a cambered bar is that it is still similar to a regular movement with a stiff bar, you even grip the bar like a proper squat but with significantly less pressure on your shoulders. Unlike a Safety Squat Bar, the Buffalo Bar can be used for upper body movements as well.

Buffalo bar - huge stretch, amazing price

I have been using this bar for bench pressing and squatting for the past several weeks. I had never used a Buffalo bar before. On squat the load is distributed differently than with a straight bar, sort of draped across the shoulders. It is a nice variation, not unequivocally better, but nice. And the lower centre of mass might let you open the hips and squat more upright and so hit the quads a bit harder, I'm no biomechanic.

For bench pressing it is a revelation. I have used it with flat and low incline bench pressing. The stretch in the bottom position is wild. It's about an extra 3" ROM when I grip it with my regular bench press width with index finger on the knurling ring. Great pec stimulus. I hit it at ~50 pounds less than my straight bar bench weight for several weeks, tried flat bar bench the other day, no loss of strength. Stretch mediated hypertrophy rules OK!

The bar is great, especially for the price. As someone else mentioned the packaging was terrible, the box was destroyed when it arrived. The bar had a small ding on the end of the sleeve, but it's a Barbell, who cares? Lol

The part of the barbell that is straight is too short. Long story short , it will destroy your j-cups completely in a regular rack because the barbell bending starts right where the j-cups holds the bar so it’s going side to side when you put it down on it. If that makes sense …
